Title: Carnival glass punch bowl at last!!
Post by: chuggy on March 30, 2006, 02:39:40 PM
Well spring must be in the air as I've finally tackled the garage and found the carnival glass punch bowl and 12 cups referred to some while back. I think they are Indiana and not worth a lot, but can someone just confirm (please Glen) before I put them on e-bay.

Hi Paul - yes that's Indiana Glass Company's "Harvest" punch bowl and cups in "Iridescent Blue" - 1970s.

Great for serving punch on a summer night.

Aha, I'm actually selling the exact same pattern and colour on eBay at this very moment!

Harvest Grape Punch Bowl (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7401863440&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1)

Paul, might be worth you following this to see how it goes, although I'm only selling it as 'collect only' due to the weight and don't expect the best price. 6 watching at present.

Glen: we exchanged mails about this late last year and it did sell then, but the silly bidder was in Northern Ireland and I guessed they wouldn't collect (they didn't   )

I'm prepared to post it, but have already had enquiries on postal costs from Canada and USA, it must surely be cheaper to obtain one locally or have we cornered the market.

 I'm staggered that anyone would want to consider that :?

Using ParcelFarce and assuming a 6.5kg packed weight, this would work out to £48.75 at Economy Rate – not a method I'd recommend. The Standard Rate is £65.10... totally uneconomical IMHO.

The trouble is that sending surface mail takes so long and leaves the seller open to a PayPal 'clawback' if the buyer ever complained.

As you point out, there must be many more sets in the US than here in Blighty! :)
