Title: Marigold Carnival Glass with Butterfly - ID = Butterfly and Berry, Fenton
Post by: adam20 on June 09, 2011, 08:07:19 AM
Set of these - one shown - marigold carnival glass with moulded grape and vine and butterfly to centre and around panelled sides - on 3 feet with scalloped rim -  4.5" diameter and 2.5" high.

Any idea of age and pattern number and maker - searched a fair bit but can't find

Thanks Adam

In lieu of Glen's excellent books and website (http://www.thistlewoods.net/), http://www.ddoty.com/ is a useful site for carnival glass. A search took me 2 secs http://www.ddoty.com/butflybrybowls.html

This is one of our first patterns that was likely intended for production in "iridescent ware," our original name in late 1907 for the items now called "Carnival glass" by collectors. This was our 1124 line, and the usual items are water set, table set and berry set as well as other pieces. The pattern (now called Butterfly and Berry by collectors) must have been pretty popular, and we were making some items well into the 1920s.
