Title: Carnival Glass (Chariot)
Post by: Della on March 21, 2006, 12:50:17 PM
Hi Glen & all,

I have seen this pattern somewhere, but I can't find it anymore. I am becoming dizzy from patterns

This is a footed dish, too big to be a sugar, I think.

Edited to add:

Hi Della - yes indeed it is Chariot. I have the twin to your piece. I would say it is an open sugar (for someone with a sweet tooth). It would double up as a comport for general use. A friend of ours in the UK has a little creamer - which is the only one I know of (although there must be others).

I have not been able to attribute it through any catalogs so far. My guess is maybe, possibly, Rindskopf. Unsure - just a feeling based on general characteristics. Certainly European though. Yours has a really nice iridescence.

Glen

Hi Glen,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, you would need to have a very sweet tooth
The iridescence is wonderful on this bowl, I have to agree.
I will keep on searching for more, without having to resort to ebay.
