Title: Enameled lace vase
Post by: Ivo on October 08, 2006, 11:37:09 AM
Tall blue opaline vase with cold and hot enameling. Unline most Czech / "Bristolware"  vases this one has an added open blown foot. The polished rims are finished in gilding.

The cold enameled band are Fuchsia flowers; the hot enameled
lace curtains in detail:

Assuming this to be Czech circa 1880 but keeping an open mind and welcoming all opinions...

Nice one. Am I right in thinking the foot is open underneath, not open on the inside like they usually are?

Correct, that is what I was trying to describe above - this is proper quality produce.
