Title: Top 5 books to buy

I am relatively new to collecting Scandinavian Glass and want to add a few new reference books to my shelves. At present I only have:
Millers 20th C glass Scandinavian Glass - creative energies by William Geary
Any tips on top books to fill that shelf? ;D

Here are a couple that I have and use, a lot.
Scandinavian Glass 1930-2000 Smoke & Ice - Leslie Pina & Lorenzo Vigier. Scandinavian Glass 1930-2000 Fire & Sea - Leslie Pina & Lorenzo Vigier. Designlasin hintakirja - in Finnish, but short translation guide in the back of the book.

Dansk Glas: 1925-1985 by Erik Lassen & Mogens Schlüter. It's in Danish, but it's very comprehensively illustrated.

Thank you for having my book in your collection.
I would recommend "Orrefors, A Century of Swedish Glassmaking" Edited by Kerstin Wickman
The signature section provides a treasure of information on the historic signatures for all the techniques used by Orrefors Glassworks.

William, I love your book. I picked it randomly from Amazon because I liked the name creative energies- and a good choice it was too! It has already influenced the style of glass I buy - One day I might have a collection which reflects your book.

As you may well know Glass reference books can be prohibitively expensive I have seen copies of Fire & Sea & Smoke & Ice for sale at in excess of £65!
My top tip for finding books is abebooks.co.uk this site is linked to 1000's of bookstores around the world & I have found it to be invaluable.

And don't forget that if you buy them new from Amazon, to go via the search box at the top of the board, as the board then receives a small commission on each sale through that box. It all helps keep us afloat. :) See http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,16929.0.html

The Brilliance of Swedish Glass 1918-1939 An Alliance of Art and Industry edited by Derek E Ostergard and Nina Stritzler-Levine.
While you are unlikely to find many of the pieces in this book on sale in a charity shop, or indeed anywhere other than major collections, it is a great way to train your eye and step up a gear! :)
