Title: help with identification please - is it design / scandinavian ?
Post by: Orange on December 25, 2009, 04:57:44 PM
Hello all,

I recently bought this light for only 2 euro's at a garage sale, and i wonder; is it design? and by who?

You can find some pictures here :

The base is quite thick orange opaline glass. The top is white opaline glass. The powerchord has an old switch.
Does anyone more knowledge or info on this lamp. I have no other information (no fabric numbers/stickers etc).

Any help would be grately appreciated :)
Holiday greetings from the Netherlands

It's not a design I immediately recognise, but many lamps of this ilk were produced in both Italy and Germany during the 1960s and 70s.

Thanks for the info Pinkspoons.

The glass is three layers... I was wondering if it could be design...or regular massproduction.
I'm very happy with the lamp, because it gives beautiful light :)

Greetings

I've had fairly bog-standard 1970s Italian lighting designed for inexpensive and anonymous export that's been made up of three and four layers of glass. It's a sign of attention to detail, but not necessarily designer-lead production.

It's a nice lamp, though, and I like the combination of shapes - I definitely would have snapped it up for 2€ too!
