Title: Scandi? And votive, candle holder, salt or what? = Hadeland Nautilus
Post by: Leni on April 30, 2007, 06:33:06 PM
This little bowl is rounded out inside, so I don't know if it's meant to be a votive or candle holder, or something else  ???  It's just 3 inches across and an inch and a half high.

I first thought Iitala, but a friend thought Hadeland.  However, the pattern impressed on the base reminds me of a certain vase which Ivo attributed to Johansfors Glasbruk.  Could this be by them, too?  What does anyone else think?

This appears to be from Hadeland, designed by Willy Johansson. The series was called Nautilus and exists in many shapes, vases, ashtrays etc. Ca 1970'ies.

I'm surprised. I gotta bone up more on Hadeland. They did some neat stuff and what a variety. Ed.
