Title: Unusual mystery plates - ID: Consolidated, Dance of the Nudes

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, and wonder if any of you experts can help. We've inherited a set of these unusual glass plates. There are no markings or numbers, and the back of each plate appears slightly frosted. The cavorting figures are very well defined. I believe that they may have been purchased in the 1940s or 1950s, possibly in England. I've hunted on the internet, but can't find anything to help me identify them. Any ideas?

How many is a 'set'?   :shock:  :D

And I love the description 'Cavorting' figures!  :lol:

Looks like Verlys or Lalique or summat to me.  No idea which!  :?

Would it not be marked if it's Lalique though Leni? I don't know if Verlys is marked or not.

Either way it's a wonderful plate... how many in the set kilmeny?

Superb items and may well be Etling judging by the quality. I believe quite a lot of Etling production was unsigned though many were signed so no hard and fast rules.

I think they are Consolidated Glass.

Yes, I was right.  HMW Colored Glass 2 - Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company, Coraopolis, PA - pattern name - Dance of the Nudes made in crystal and pink in the late 1920s.

From my experience, Verlys is not always marked.
What fabulous plates - ONE would be wonderful to have, but a set..... :shock::shock::shock:

Wow - mystery solved! Many thanks. Have found a photograph on the internet for Consolidated "Dance of the Nymphs" and that's definitely what we have. We have a set of 10 plates, plus 10 smaller plates/shallow bowls - sadly a number are damaged.

You're a wealth of information. I've just begun to be interested in collecting glass, but am very much at the "I-don't-know-much-but-I-know-what-I-like" stage. Hope to learn more from all of you.
