Title: Riihimaen?
Post by: David555 on February 11, 2006, 01:52:06 AM
Hi

Riihimaen, or Reijmyre (or other) what do people think?

I have seen this shape as Riihimaen but am not that sure. It’s so scarlet it thinks its orange – Scandinavian I am sure 9.7” high. The base looks not cased, but it is in the usual Riihimaen manner (the red is so bright you can only see clear base on a white surface)

Reijmyre is thickwalled and intensely red, you would not mistake it for orange; Riihimäenlasi would be cased, and so I would sooner think in the direction of Ingridglas or Aseda - or something out of Czechoslovakia....

Hi Ivo

Those are good places to look, thanks.

My fault as my post was not clear - the vase is cased - it doesn't look like it because of colour flooding, it is the brightest vase I have ever had LOL.

Clear casing to base 2cm, vase weight 900g, it is red when viewed in a normal light, any intense light (flash, direct sunlight) makes it glow an orange

Thanks
