:thud: ...as per usual...I have been trying to pick up one of these for years...
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110754523668?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Once again...I have lost...determining the value of these pieces is horrendous as they are all over the place...
Oh well...better luck next time...I hope...GRRRRRRRRRRRRR... :24:
Good luck to the winner...I hate you... :hi:

I'm always wary of these after a trip to Venice where I saw several "modern" ones, and I couldn't tell the difference (from a picture at least). :pb:
-
The Chinese have tried to... ::) a great failure...this one I believe is geniune...to my utter failure and not having enough cash at the moment due to a car service, insurance and rego :wsh:
Oh well...*puts cash aside to catch a piece for next time...not going to be pipped at the post next time... ;D

Those don't look like the real thing to me, kane. The textures, colors, & small details just don't look right to me. You may be lucky you did not win. This is just my opinion. It may be the lighting that was used.

Anita's comments are pretty much what has been on my mind when I see these come up on ebay,
from the pics its so difficult to be absolutely sure, think of paying such a sum to discover its a modern repro'
the chinese examples I have seen have been poor in my estimate.
from a picture for the sums these pieces make, its a bold buy in my opinion,
better luck for the future, I hope you get your piece in the end.
