Stands 8 inches tall and about 3 inches wide and a shade under 4 lbs. Has a long undulating center bubble surrounded by internal rings. Very distinctive design and signed on base but I cannot decipher. Hoping someone here might recognize.

Signature looks like Simon to me.

Wow, that is some piece! I haven't see much in the way of bubble rings but I seem to recall some Swedish pieces. Any chance this could be Simon Gate of Orrefors fame? A long shot I know.... I'm way out of my element here. :-[

It is Czech, Josef Svarc for Podebrady glassworks.
Also included in Mark Hill's book "hi sklo lo sklo".
Very good piece! :)

A similar piece here on GMB in 2009 that thought Svarc (again based on the Mark Hill book) but no signature and no replies so not positively identified.... http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=26688.0
Here's a Svarc bowl, more typical of his design that bares his signature. Looks just like the signature in the OP. ...http://www.etsy.com/listing/87296996/amazing-thistle-motif-crystal-bowl

The vase is a great piece, nothing wrong with the signature either. A great find.
