Title: Huge art glass bird - czech?
Post by: jonnybrum on December 16, 2012, 12:38:39 PM
Hi all,

can anyone help in identifying who may have been responsible for this chap.  He's big measuring 18 inches in height.  Sadly doesn't seem to have any factory marks.  Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi,  I've done some further research and it looks like the piece might be by Cenedese possibly designed by Antonio da Ros.  Are there any Murano experts who can confirm this?

Cenedese was my first thought jonny and I still think it is....call in the Murano experts...my other thought was Seguso,  but Cenedese is my first inkling.  Please can we see more piccies, the base and a close up of the head and beak?
Rosie.  :)

Thanks Rosie for your help.  Here are the pictures you requested.  Oh, btw noticed a typo in my original post.  The piece measures approx 12 inches high not 18.

I wonder if it is possible for a Moderator to take the czech? off the title so that those who specialise in Italian glass may be interested in lookin?  Possibly even adding ? Cenedese.
