Title: Australian Iridescent glass at its best!
Post by: ahremck on September 29, 2010, 01:18:49 PM
Just want to show you all an excellent example of Colin Heaney's work.  Byron Bay is the most Easterly point of Australia roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.

Colin's work has been copied by so many other artists, he was a great originator.  I have about 8 pieces but this one currently on Ebay is much larger than I have(and much more expensive).  I hope you like the wondeeful irridescence he was able to achieve.  Most of this work was using surface treatment of one form or another.  The largest piece I ever saw was a series of larger lilypad leaves c. 18" across with a number of beautiful pink Nymphaea(water lilies) - the whole thing c. 7 ft x 3 ft = $30,000(Australian)  All exquisitely done with various surface treatments.

Is the current listing it will be on for another 9 dayes or so.
