Post by: Roger H on August 13, 2011, 10:41:50 PM
This weight has just finished on ebay, item num 2707 9515 9409, what do you think of it? Regards Roger.

It's as it says - a Paul Ysart made at the Harland factory, hence the H cane. Looks a lovely weight and is a genuine piece.

Hi and thanks for the comment, did I ever buy a Paul Ysart faceted weight off you John, although I suppose there are several Johns in scotland?  Roger.

Looks like a typical Harland Studio piece, some of which were made by Paul, some by his apprentices. Prices seem to be looking up: I put a signed Paul Ysart fish with label and original PY box on eBay at broadly the same price a few weeks ago and got no interest at all.

Hi Alan, yes I watched the fish weight in question, curious isn't it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, and only one of the many reasons similar weights have different selling prices.
The butterfly seems to have a simple charm at a reasonable price considering others that are available at the moment on different sites. I rather liked the tiny millefiori in the wings. Regards Roger.

Hi John, I was hoping you were not the person in question as after speaking with PH for a while some flack was flying. I'm still waiting for the butterfly to fly south to me from Galashiels but I guess its a hard flight, should be here tomorrow I hope. Regards Roger.

Hi all,the butterfly has arrived and is delightful. I can now see the tiny millefiori in the wings sharply in focus, a lovely aspect. I was a bit dubious about buying from someone with no feedback but took a chance. Regards Roger.
