Title: 2 Unusual & Splendid Allan Scott Weights
Post by: m1asmithw8s on September 27, 2006, 01:31:13 AM
2 recent ebay finds, both expensive as I had a lot of competition!
I'm posting them here because they show both excellent lampwork + unusual & fanciful subject matter.

Great to see those ones again,a"blast from the past"indeed. The" life's a beach" bear weight was done for Caithness about the same time as I did a series of bears for the Scottish Glass Society exhibition. If anyone out there has any of them I would love to see a picture of them.I can't remember them all,but there was the "on the piste",one with a bear as a goalkeeper (diving to save a ball),a drunken one lying down with a untied bowtie round his neck and champagne bottle and glass in the weight as well,I think there was a birthday party one as well.I don't remember the others but I think there was about 6 of them altogether(so long ago now  ).There was also the Coca-cola special commission polar bear weight for Caithness"Life's a bear and ice"which came out just after the beach one.Hope someone reads this and knows where the exhibition ones are and can organise a picture or two for the message board.
