Title: Sowerby Queen's Ivory plaque shown on Antiques Roadshow 19.2.2012
Post by: Anne on February 19, 2012, 11:00:11 PM
The AR expert Steven Moore became quite excited at one of the items he saw on the programme today, recorded at Hartland Abbey in Devon last year: a rare Sowerby Queen's Ivory tile / plaque, which he stated was known only from catalogues, and only a fragment owned by a museum.

It's worth a look-see at the episode on the BBC iPlayer - it's almost at the very end of the 60 minute show:

I saw that Anne - it was quite exciting wasn't it?  I thought the valuation was disappointing considering it's the only one ever been found!
