Title: A thickwalled vase
Post by: Daniels_Glass_Items on August 13, 2007, 02:07:07 PM
Hi, :)

Can anyone tell me if this is a modern copy of an old piece?

It has a pontil on the bottom and measures, approx 5 inches high, it's tiddly! (tiny) and is blue glass with a yellow rim. I've no idea what it is!

Photo's Here:

I recently stumbled across this piece of Victorian glass, a traditional witches ball  :o

These would have been hung above a doorway or window in a net bag in olden time's to protect the inhabitant from the curse of the evil eye.  >:D

I'd think that anything thickwalled and cylindrical would be modern.
