Title: What is the different between Val St. Lambert and Chênée?????
Post by: casalibre on January 14, 2013, 05:13:01 PM
This is an interesting item on eBay:

The seller means it is Chenee, but it could be also Val St. Lambert or not?
How to find out what the different is?

It might be a "Bohemain spider" weight of a type shown in Peter Von Breckel's book.

I would agree with Kevin...to me it looks Bohemian - or maybe Alsace. Val St Lambert had several factories, and made various types of paperweight, but this does not look like one of theirs. Chenee made some very high quality millefiori weights, but I do not know of any evidence to link this style of weight to that factory (perhaps the seller does, though...?); Chenee may have made similar pieces, but who can say?
