Title: Unusual Ysart cupcake....
Post by: tropdevin on June 06, 2012, 10:46:13 AM
***

Here are images of an unusual paperweight that I suspect was made either by Salvador or Vincent Ysart, but I would welcome opinions (especially from KevH).  The millefiori element is quite unusual, like a small cupcake....

Diameter 3 1/4 inch / 82 mm; height 2 1/2 inch / 62 mm.

The canes all seem to be "early Ysart". The "feathering" in the base is very angular but is certainly of the style known in a few weights that I think were made by Salvador Ysart (even though one or two may still be considered by other folk to be by Paul Ysart).

I like oddities, and this is one of the oddest I have seen. ;D
