Hello John, I am the owner of the Whitefriars paperweight. I am not a collector and this and other pieces were left to me by my Uncle. It appears this is a rare item but have not been able to get a valuation because of it's rarity. Have you any idea where I should go?

Hi Diane, a couple of sites here you may find useful, have you considered eBay? I have listed a few rare weights and they have always found their price.

Have you looked at Trudy's gallery on whitefriars.com ?

Hi Diane i dont believe you need worry two W/Fs rarish weights went about a week ago 450 and 550 pounds another rarer one went this week for a thousand pounds i would think yours may be between the 550 - 1000 this was all on ebay , i am sure there are a couple of collectors on this forum who would be bidding a fair price , you do need a better picture than the one on W/Fs.com . Many thanks for your advice, it is good to know that I can pass any funds to my son, as it was a legacy. Better look after the other Whitefriars bits! Unfortunately photography not my strong point, will try again.

Hi ,
This is indeed a very rare and desirable paperweight as john so rightly says.............. I am thinking more like 1000 to 1200 pounds if there is no damage.
Regards,
Patrick. :)

Hi,
Well I had not intended to buy this weight but Diane contacted me to ask for advice and added a better picture to her email....... I fell in love with it and she was good enough to sell me it. I thought I would post a pic.of it for those that are interested. Although I am not a paperweight collector I do collect Baxter experimental pieces so this will fit into my collection. It has a 1980 date cane.........
Regards,
Patrick.
Ps, The detail on the top RH is a slice of original cane I have.

Wow have you counted the canes Patrick , thats a task for a long winters night on your boat . Nice one .
