Hi, could anyone tell me if the Bagley Rutland green dressing table set is uranium or not?
best regards
Alison

Yes and no! ;D Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. Uranium tends to be rarer

Hi, so can you only tell by using a uv light source? and, where do you buy one?
best regards
Alison

Folks like Christine can tell without a UV light but the rest of us mortals need one.
-
If you actually have it, post a picture. I can usually tell Bagley from a photo, although I'm not infallible, despite what Anne says ;D
UV lights can also be found ebay, but a Maplins one is likely to have a better quality LED. A key ring light is adequate for "shopping" purposes. Remember you must get a bright green reaction and be able to see it in daylight (but not necessarily bright sunlight). A keyring light held close to the glass will give a bright green beam in the glass. Further away it's more likely just to give a "brightening" effect.

Hi Christine, here is a picture of the set, not very good i am afraid

Try with a flash or under sunlight. (Flashes aren't usually very good for glass photos, or any photos really, but it can show up a uranium glow to some extent.)
-
I'd suspect it's not the uranium green but I've a 50/50 chance of being wrong!
-
I agree with Anne, not uranium, the colour is too pale and not rich enough (but I too have a 50:50 chance of being wrong).

Thank you both for that, luckily i don't have too much of the green stuff!
best regards
