Hi,
I recently purchased a clear glass lamp base (photos attached) from an antique store in Denmark. The owner thought the lamp base was probably Norwegian, given the dimpled surface of the glass, or perhaps Swedish, and from 1960s-1970s. Although the shape looked abstract to me, the store owner said he thought it looked like a troll. After seeing some photos of Bergdala glass trolls perhaps he is right!
I would be really interested to hear if anyone has seen a lamp base like this before, or if anyone has any ideas who produced it.
Thanks, Emma

Reminds me a little of Lars Hellsten designs for Skruf.

Skruf was my immediate thought as well.
I'm sure I've seen a vase in this design or near as.

I was thinking Skruf too but I can't seem to find this design anywhere now!

or Riihimaaki? I'll have a search later.
Oh and welcome to the board :)

Nic, M and Dan,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.
I have emailed Skruf and asked if they produced the lamp. If I get a reply from Skruf I will post the info here.
Thanks again, Emma

Might be Vladislav Urban Libochovice for Sklo Union.

NMott,
Thank you so much for suggesting Vladislav Urban Libochovice for Sklo Union. I googled him and the first entry that came up was an identically patterned vase by Vladislav Urban Libochovice on ebay!

Vladislav Urban is a designer; Libochovice is a company. I suspect the vase being referred to is Libochovice 3469, which is not this vase or lamp base, and was designed by Pavel Panek. And no pieces designed in Communist Czechoslovakia would not have been made in Scandinavia
