I am glad that you like it.

Hm you seem to have a new personna. Do we call you Sklo for short and does this one do grumpy ;D :-*? The glas blower is great BTW, who made him?
-
Hi Christine,
Do we call you Sklo for short and does this one do grumpy ?
Marcus will do, or Grumpy ;D ;D
As to who made the glass-blower, to the best of my knowledge, a Czechoslovakian company called Feigl and Moravka (Morawetz)
who were around from just before the first world war, until the end of the second.
Height is 160mm, so a little over six inches, and base is 130mm square (5 inches or so) and pressed sodium-potash glass.
He dates to the 1930s. He will not be being used as an ashtray. :D
Regards,
Marcus

Glad you finally got him, Grumpy!
Are these your photos? They look really good 8)

David,
Thank you. Shot outside, on the first sunny day for a week ;D
That camera was a good investment.
imho, this is one of the finest pieces of Czechoslovakian pressed glass I have seen, and a real pleasure to own.

Grumpy

Ooohh Marcus, he is gorgeous! I can see now why you were so excited about this piece. Thank you for sharing the pictures of him... and if you ever spot another I think we'll be queuing up for first dibs at him! ;)
-
Thanks, Anne.
It was remiss of me not to have done so earlier, but I would like to thank my friends Olina, John and Zofinka Barkrovi, in the Czech Republic, for all their assistance, in getting this item to me in one piece.
Regards,
Marcus

And just a few days later:
I have now discovered that the designer was Karel Zentner, 1891-1963.
Moulds were made by either H. Kiko, Rybarska 19, Brno, or by the Mstisov mould-makers, Ullrich and Christl.
Regards,
Marcus

Another Karel Zentner piece for you to enjoy.
