The colour in real life is a lovely ruby red.
No makers mark that i can see.

Davidson's No. 269 pattern. What a gorgeous colour!

No, not that new. This design was used until the 1970s in various colours. Does it have a flat ground base? The older ones do, the newer ones don't. Is it amberina rather than ruby? If so, you have a rarity :shock:

No not bad for £1.99. I've never seen that design in red and the oval shape is not terribly common.

Ruby 269 is shown In Chris Stewart's book Davidson Glass, a history. Chris dates the ruby colour as starting from the early to mid fifties See also Chris' website: http://www.cloudglass.com/History.htm
