Title: Surely Riihimaki?
Post by: lyndhurst44 on April 21, 2008, 05:50:16 PM
This is a vase I picked up earlier today at a local Junk/ secondhand store. I thought immediately it was Riihimaki but on consulting my Scandinavian glass reference books I am unable to find it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

Bryn

I'd think Aseda, Bo Borgström.

Large collection Robert? That's a HUGE collection. Fantastic.  :hiclp:
Do you know who designed them all as well?

I have just one other from your display, the fifth from the left on the middle row, that too came from a junk shop, it was cheap but very dirty inside and I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get it clean, but it really
cleaned up well.
I have an array of soft bottle brushes and they and Fairy Power did the job.
I can imagine a lot of members using your massive collection for reference. I dare not ask if you collect other colours as well :o.
Many thanks again for your help,
Bryn

Hi Bryn
 There's lots more!

I can post more pics later here.. if that's allowed, or is there somewhere to post pics of one's collections?

(I'm new here! )   :D

Hi Robert - I've long drooled over your incredibly impressive collections of Scandi glass - I've seen them on your eBay ME page or on one of your listings in the past I think :-)

You have to make the album public, otherwise on you can see it because it requires a password

Wow! Robert,
This post has really moved on since I last looked. Can't turn around these days.
I hope my initial post didn't create too much work for you. Well done anyway. Super collection :hiclp:

Hmm ::) you wouldn't actually know who may have designed my little red vase would you? :-[

Cheers,
Bryn

Ah, that's good news, I know I'm started to lose it but that really hit the accelerator. I actually sold a Whitefriars piece on Ebay on Monday so there was a little bit of "cred" in it.

No problem. I was not aware of Whitefriars waisted soda vases until your message. Now I've got my spies out everywhere.  ;D

I would be almost certain it is Tamara Aladin
But there seems to be no documentation on this one!
