From your first (and indeed the majority of your pictures) I'd say Sapphire.  The final picture looks like Arctic Blue, but I think is is an anomaly, perhaps caused by the pink background.  I vote definitely Sapphire.

Given the shape and the colour that you see in the majority of the pictures, I'd say it was arctic blue.

Jill's Whitefriars Duck site is now back up and running and you can compare the picture of arctic blue there with yours.....

go to Later Ducks Page 4

Cheers,

The colour is most obvious to me in keiren's third picture - Artic blue isn't nearly so bright, so I'm leaning towards Sapphire as well. Wonder what Emmi thinks?

Hello Kieran

I would agree with Brian. Your duck has the classic shape and ground beak making your duck circa 1960 so I would say its Artic blue. Sapphire blue ducks  were earlier 1957 and usually have elongated "primitive" heads and fire polished beaks. Hope this helps.

Regards

Trudy  :)

I don't own any ducks - I'm a swan person  ;) - but I'll post my colour comparison picture again for people to consider.

I am usually pretty good at identifying Whitefriars colours, but this one has me stumped, it could, from the photos be either Sapphire or Arctic.  If I HAVE to guess I'd say Arctic............but really needs a better photo in natural light , and  one which Kieren can say really looks like it is in real life, so we have an idea.  What a little teaser this one is!!! ::)

Hi,
If it was sapphire blue it would be worth a fortune...................  Brian has looked at the SHAPE and that is what makes it Arctic blue.

Nice duck.

Regards, Patrick.
