Title: Vizner or Hanus?
Post by: Jeffingtons on September 17, 2011, 04:55:22 PM
Hi all

Seen this vase on another post with multiple vases and two apparent ID's.  Plan to put on ebay tonight with some other things (my 1st attempt at selling glass) and want to be sure I've got the right attribution.  Is it:
a) Frantisek Vizner, Rosice, 1962, 902
or
b) Václav Hanuš, Rudolfova huť 1957, 12966

I bow once more to you experts. Thanks as ever

Hi... It's Vaclav Hanus, pattern number 12996 for Rudolfova, designed in 1957. (The Vizner 902 has got more rounded edges.)

A really great site which may help you in identifying postwar Czech glass is http://sklo-union-glass.com/ . You can search the site by designer, factory or glass type, or simply type a pattern number into the search box.  There are multiple photographs for each piece, taken from different angles.  Most importantly, the information / attributions provided are reliable.  :)
