I have a municipal year book centenary edition weight, sponsored by Caithness glass Ltd. Nothing marked to base
Would you say this was a moonflower blank and is there any way of finding out how many of these were commissioned please?
thanks

It certainly looks similar to the Moonflower weights to me, I've never seen any published numbers for these commissioned/corporate weights but hopefully Wolf will be along to confirm.

I am not sure from your photographs: Moonflower has sort of a central peak rising from the base - which I don't see on your images (might just be obscured by the stencilled facet). Caithness also had a selection of "corporate designs", some of them not too different from standard unlimited designs. Design #19 on the 1993 flyer (below - sorry for the poor scan) looks a bit like your weight - just amethyst instead of silver.
Finding out the number made will be difficult, if not impossible, as most of the paperwork was discarded when Caithness went into receivership and moved to smaller premises.
I would be pleased, however, to get your permission to use your images for Scotland's Glass.

Nick & Wolf, thanks for the replies.
There is no central peak just the 4 elongated bubbles which did make me wonder whether it was a variant of some sort reserved for commissions.
As always, Wolf, you are very welcome to the pictures
cheers
