Title: Pink opal(?) dish. English? Help...please.

My husband, bless, bought this for me.

It is not the sort of glass that I am used to handling, or seeing on my walkabouts.

It feels old and looks old, but for the rest, I am stumped :oops:  :oops:  I'm not even sure what colour name to give it. :cry:

Could any of you wonderful folks help, please? :P

Hi Della - I can't help with an ID - but I do think it's very pretty indeed - and without a doubt, your husband is an absolute treasure  :lol:

Hi Della,

Just sticking my neck out, it might be worth trying the Murano board for this one. There's something about the thickness, the opal and the clear applied foot, oh, and the half-hearted polishing on the pontil which reminds me of some of Murano I've had.

Thanks Cathy  :) . I will let Peter or Frank move this posting to the Murano board, if they think it would be better there, rather than make a new posting, otherwise it could be cause for confusion. :?

It's circa 1950s or '60s Murano glass.  It's possible that it was made by Archimede Seguso. However, many companies did this kind of work, so without a label an exact attribution will be extremely difficult.
