Title: ID bird paperweight. ID = Kerry Glass
Post by: seeker on July 30, 2011, 06:54:20 PM
Also bought a pretty bird paperweight today, do not know if it can be attributed or identified, but thought I would ask as it looks very nice with the green and black swirls through the body.

Just over 2" tall

I would guess at Kerry Glass or Isle of Man studio Glass.  It is very like the IOW glass bird shape and both these Glass Studios had glass blowers from the Isle of Wight.

It could be IOW, but they usually polished the bases better than yours.

It is a lovely bird, and looks as though the delicate beak has survived.

I was leaning towards IOW, but like you stated the base did not look right.

I will check out Kerry glass and Isle of Man studio glass and see if I can get a match.

Thank you for the reply.

Regards

Yes, I did some more searching yesterday and it is by Kerry Glass, Ireland.

Thank you Rosie for pointing me in the right direction.
