latest pick up and what a lovely piece of clear and precise design.i cant quite make out the sig and designer.im thinking its Nuutajarvi Notsjo but i can make out the designer.dated 57 i think.any opinions glass peeps.

Congratulations - that one is quite rare and by Jakko Niemi, the main glass blower at Nuutajärvi. I have an identical one, and it has been subject of discussion on this board - but a search turns out blank. It may have been too long ago....

thanks for that info.it has a really nice feel about it the quality is there.were there a few designs in this shape.i need a few more ref books i have alot but its obv lacking. :)

Hello bigbri, you do indeed have a very special piece of glass there... Jaakko Niemi is one of my favourite glass makers. I collect his lovely birds and ducks.

Thanks for that link it was good to read through.i like the piece its beautifully made and as always its a bonus if others do too,I got it from the same place as the boffo penguin so here's hoping I get a third time lucky or is that greedy,maybe,,,anyways as always happy hunting,,,,,
