Title: Cranberry Vase identification
Post by: Nancy128 on December 22, 2005, 06:42:56 PM
Found this 6-inch tall cranberry vase at an estate sale.  Thought it might be Pilgrim but the neck is wrong.  Maybe Murano?  Don't know.  Any ideas?

Nancy -

I don't know, I think it might still be Pilgrim.

The pictures are horrible on this item but they show that Pilgrim made the same type of top edge as your vase

Coincidently there is a Pilgrim cranberry vase in the banner of Glass Maven Haven (www.glassmavenhaven.com).  It belonged to my former partner.  As soon as I saw your vase I immediately thought of it, but in that case the top edges are different.

Hi Connie, That's great to hear that you think the vase is Pilgrim.  Like I said, when I first saw it I thought that it might be a Pilgrim vase.  It's always great when you find someone that wants to agree with you.  It's funny how I got this vase, I was at this estate sale on the last day and here in Amarillo everything goes half price on the last day.  She had two other Pilgrim pieces that still had the stickers on them so they were still pretty pricey even with the half off.  So I'm going through the house and I see these cheap flower vases up on a top shelf, you know the ones that you get from the florist, and I see this cranberry vase in the back.  Well I'm too short to be able to reach the vase and I asked some innocent bystander to help me get this vase down.  So he helps and the price on the vase was $5.00 so with half off I got it for $2.50.  I LOVE it when I get a great looking vase for just an incredible deal.
