Well done Stew,it looks like some of the modern Caithness weights, might have a go at glass blowing myself at next years glass festival in Stourbridge.
-
YOU made it ? WOW :hiclp: :hiclp:
Did you Sign your bottom ?? I mean THE bottom ..... lol
-
no rose you dont get to sign the base as it has to go in the annealing kiln think thats what its called. this takes a while so the just put a kings lynne sticker on it and send you it. they also make one at the same time you pick both colours and you keep both. would love to do it again
-
That's very nice Stew. How long did it take to make and had you done anything like this before (I'm thinking about my next birthday!).
-
it doesnt take very long its over in a flash but i could stay there all day watching the glass blower making all sorts of stuff yhe family also got to blow some glass borbles
-
Well, it sounds like a great day out and you've got a great reminder of it. Yep, I must definitely try that some time.
-
Put it like this, if I saw it for sale cheap I would buy it without knowing who made it. That's a compliment because bargain is one of the criteria for most of my paperweight collecting. (Chinese are mostly excluded)
-
it was supposed to be round but i thought i would be different and place a bump on the top ;D honest. the glass blower makes it look so easy. i can see in about 50 years someone coming on here asking who made that work of art :24:
thanks for the input

Hi Stew - Nice one
Hi all,
For those of you who may interested, Keith is talking about the Fifth International Festival of Glass which will take place in Stourbridge in August 2012.
I am hoping to be 'handling glass' at the festival, too. Also, they mention 'Masterclasses' for those of you who may be more advanced than complete beginner-me.
