Title: A mini weight
Post by: Leni on December 07, 2005, 10:23:09 AM
Another new weight arrived today.  It's very small!    Measures approx. 4cm in diameter.

I had no idea what I was getting with this one as the photo was very unclear, but the colours looked interesting, so I took a chance

This is what I got: http://tinypic.com/ibgyhk.jpg  http://tinypic.com/ibgykp.jpg  http://tinypic.com/ibgylf.jpg

So can anyone tell me exactly what I have got?  :?  The orange and turquoise look a bit Strathern-ey to me, but that's not my area, so I'm prepared to be completely wrong!

First guess from top view ... Strathearn
Second guess from side view ... Vasart
Third guess from base view ... early Vasart ('46 to '55)

A shortwave UV test would confirm if it's early or later.

Thanks, Kevin! :D  I'll bring it along to a PCC meeting next year and you can get under a table with it so you can test it with your UV light, if you would be so kind

Kevin, I don't think I ever did bring this weight to a PCC meeting for you to see

Will you have your UV light at the Paperweight Exhibition at Olympia on Saturday 11th?  If so I could just pop this little chap in my pocket

Unfortunately there are no facilities for using the UV light at Olympia.
