An awful picture but to me this one certainly looks Fake?

Yes. And in this instance the overall look shows a quality that would not be expected from a genuine Paul Ysart weight.

As you commented, Nick, in your other recent thread, it would be good for buyers if all auction descriptions clearly stated things like, "in the style of" rather than just "marked <whatever>".

But minimum descrptions with basic facts does seem to be the way that many auction houses, especially smaller companies, operate.

This one does stand out as poor quality, just about every auction I've ever attended there are paintings described this way, style of, after, school of etc perhaps painting buyers are more litigious than the rest of us?
