Hi,
I seem to recall a thread on here about czech glass moulds being sold to Italy?? Can't find it and a search doesn't help.
It is stamped Italy, measures 9" diameter 4". Heavy, good design, "seam" a little crude, but we like it.
Any info would be helpful as always.
thanks M & S

I seem to recall these are made by Fidenza Italy and often mistaken for Sklo Union but to me they seem very crude.. not sure about moulds being used in Italy though. Regards Paul

Yes, there was a Sklo vase that was stamped "Italy," and it was surmised that the mould had been sold to Italy. It was the Peceny candle wax vase, see http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,26668.msg146678.html#msg146678 I have an example of it, too. Mark Hill comments on it in Hi Sklo Lo Sklo.
I also I have the same vase as you have, but, alas, it's not Sklo Union-designed, it is Italian. I still quite like it, though, despite its crudeness.

This looks like the one Norman posted a few weeks back Sharron?
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,26967.0.html and there's an old topic about Fidenza here too: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,2305.0.html 8)

Thanks for the info folks,
Thought the thread was way back......at least I was on the right track. ;)
Hmmm it is crude, and when we had our mitts on it, we didn't even consider it to be SKLO UNION, BUT it does have a certain appeal.......

I found one ages back in a charity shop in Lancaster but they wanted silly money for it, so it stayed there. I'd bet they look good with flowers in though! :)
