Title: Orrefors decanter, bucket, and tumbler set
Post by: bcblalock on February 24, 2011, 07:02:03 AM
Hi,

I own an Orrefors Swedish crystal set which was a prize given in a Canadian Mist whiskey sweepstakes back in 1988.  I came across this at an auction a while back and am quite interested in learning more about it, including a rough value, if possible.

I know that Erik style tumblers (there are eight of those, by the way) and ice buckets are still sold by Orrefors, but are new and old pieces somehow distinguished?  I haven't been able to locate anything regarding the Karaff decanter, however.  In the included link for pictures, I have gotten a fair shot of the individual signature found on it.  Can anyone decode that information?

This set is unused and in fine condition.

Thanks for the help.

Hello:

Your decanter was designed by Edward Hald and appears for the first time in the production catalog of Orrefors
in 1941.
It was made in one size with clear crystal.
