Title: Poor Kumela Jacobino Rabbit
Post by: Max on August 25, 2006, 06:12:57 PM
When I bought this Kumela/Jacobino rabbit, I thought it was odd to have the gold dots on it!   :x

I've half-heartedly picked at them (as you do) but they seem quite attached.  I have to get them off somehow!  Perhaps nail varnish remover?

Max, are you sure they don't belong on him? He is a super bunny!

I bet it's PVA glue, in which a long soak in water might soften it. Perhaps it's his Christmas outfit :?

maybe he LIKES being gold and glittery??

Every bunny should be allowed his glitzy day.

Max,

I've a picture in my picture library of this rabbit, with four buttons down his front, so possibly don't pick at them! I can't post the photo - it's an eBay one, but will e-mail as your email link is there. I just love this animal series - there's a duck and a cat (wearing D&G shades), probably more.

I did see an auction for the bunny one, described as a "fruit bat" LOL

All your answers really made me laugh!  Thank you!

Robbo emailed me an identical rabbit to the one I have, so his buttons are original!  Thank goodness I didn't batter them with acetone!

The Kumela rabbit is now my 'Anniversary Bunny' as it's my fourth wedding anniversary today...and I've been calling my hubby 'Bunny' lately.  This rabbit will never be sold and will remain part of our glass family.  :D  :D

Thanks for all your help. xx

Congrats Max & Mr Max on 4 years of wedding bliss :-) (or is that pushing it slightly!)  BTW, it's our 5th Wedding anniversary next month (hubby and I got married just 4 days after 9/11) luckily we were having a very low key wedding and I was wearing dark purple so we didn't look inappropriate in the generally depressed and shocked atmosphere in London (I placed my purple and white wedding bouquet in the floral tributes outside the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square afterwards).  Although it did obviously put a massive downer on our wedding day on a trivial note it does mean our anniversary is virtually impossible to forget!

Hi,

For anybody that hasn't seen the others in this series, here's the duck and cat, courtesy of ruby lane:

More usually the cat has an amethyst plinth too.

It would be very nice to know if any other animals were done for this series.

I wonder why these didn't have any gold buttons!

I've no idea! Although I think I've possibly seen them with buttons too. The buttons on the photo of the rabbit I have are identical to those on the one that Max has.
You must agree that the cat is quite "D&G"  :P

I love them all.

I wouldn't even mind if the rabbit did what rabbits do and made lots more glass.....

Strangely, it seems that the rabbits didn't do this - they seen to be the least common one
I'd  love one of the cats, but every one I've seen, the eyes have been chipped.
