Title: Crystal amber water jug and whisky tumblers
Post by: scavo on April 05, 2012, 08:55:55 PM
I think this is Stuart, possibly '30s.

The colour is as close as I can tell by naked eye to a confirmed Stuart Stratford jug.

The jug in question has a polished pontil.

I'm looking for the pattern name/number if it is known.

The glasses do not have pontils. They are marvered.

Colour looks more Krosno than Stuart

here is a selection of ambers. I think I can see that the Krosno is lighter. I think my photographing the original pics against a white background and using flash bleached the glass out a little.

But I would like to know what others think.

Clockwise: Stuart; Krosno; Wedgwood; Stuart?

Have you checked the Stuart catalogue on GlassGallery to see if you can find a match? http://www.yobunny.org.uk/glassgallery/thumbnails.php?album=938 (http://www.yobunny.org.uk/glassgallery/thumbnails.php?album=938)

The colour looks very much like my Stuart Stratford amber tumblers (on the right in the attached photos alongside a lighter-weight thinner clear but similar tumbler which has a slightly different shape to the ringed section - waisted, so to speak).
