I found another piece of uranium glass at the flea market this week . Its a part frosted candlestick with a pattern of leaves around the base with a lovely panelled column, the top is unfrosted and highly polished. Any ideas as to its identity, I am sure I have seen it before either here or on Ebay? It glows beautifully under UV
-
Finally figured out how to take pic's with UV....
-
Found the similar one on Ebay with a trinket tray...

Hmmmm I wonder if that's a marriage, Angela... ? The colour looks like a match but the pieces are stylistically different. Perhaps two pieces by the same maker from different sets?
-
Could be right there Anne.....hadn't considered that. Still hoping to find a partner to mine so back to the flea market tomorrow :D
-
Fingers crossed for you. :)

hi Anne ...I bought the pink dressing table pieces similar to my Uranium candlestick. They appear to be a set very nicely finished where the top surfaces and the base rim of tray have been polished giving a very nice effect. (Same effect on my uranium candlestick) the band of roses on the candlesticks are similar to the roses on the Walther Rosen powder bowl I bought last week. (Curiously the seller of the Rosen bowl was also selling a tray similar to this) Was the Rosen powder bowl part of a set ?

Lovely pieces Angela, the tray looks remarkably like a Davidson 283/4 or 6283 tray, I have seen Davidson pieces in this colour before with part frosted/satinised areas, what are the tray measurements?
-
Hi Jayne thanks for your reply the tray measures 33cms x 20 cms :)
-
Interesting Angela! I've just been and measured a couple of my Davidson trays in the garage and they are also 33cm x 20cm! The style is the same although the trays are clear colours. I do however have some of the matching short candlesticks in pink and satinised underneath.

It does look like the Davidson one, doesn't it? Angela, can you count how many panels there are on yours round the edge please? The catalogue image shows 20 panels, and the tray size in inches is 13 x 8 which equals the cm you both state above.
As to the rosen lidded bowl, the catalogue just shows it as a dosen with a diameter of 13cm but I can't see any matching pieces for it... perhaps Pamela would know?
-
Yes I think you are both right it has 20 panels like a Davidson one. :)
-
I have been given an ID for both candlesticks ...Schweig Muller but I don't have any catalogues to confirm this. Can anyone confirm this please ?
-
The green leaf candlestick is the same pattern as on the edge of this Muller bowl, so I consider it as confirmed...hurrah!! ;D

don't suppose anyone has any Muller catalogues ?
-
I recall seeing a few pieces of Muller in some of the PK PDF files, Angela... might be worth a search through to see what's there?

Thanks Anne I will enjoy having a browse through them...never know what else I will find too. ;)
-
Same here Angela, every time I visit there seems to be oodles more files than the last time! :)

Hi Simba, I came across these rather lovely pics of a pink centrepiece, showing clearly the same leaf pattern as your uranium candlestick, attributed to Schweig Muller but I can't vouch for the accuracy of that. :)
