Title: Help with ID of amber vase, controlled bubbles, applied clear handles
Post by: David E on January 15, 2013, 10:02:17 AM
Hi,
Can anyone help with an ID for this amber vase. It has controlled bubbles around the body, a flared rim, clear applied swirl-shaped handles to each side of the neck, ground flat and polished base (some age wear) and is quite heavy (approaching 1kg or 2lbs) for the size (18cm or 7-in tall).

Any help much appreciated.

Hi David, on Jindras' site, this is in one of the CGR's circa 1957 when some blown glass was made for a short time on the site of the Pallme Koenig works involving among others Dr M. Volf and F. Zemek did some work there too. A really nice thing! The do use the Pallme name but obviously, this short lived experiment was a big departure from the glass the factory had been recognised for.

Thanks Robert, I wasn't aware of this pedigree! I'll check out Jindrich's site.
