Our eldest and his girlfriend got us these,do the markings relate to colours, dates?

Another nudge ;D ;D

We have only a few folk here with good knowledge of Maltese items. One or two of them might be looking in soon.

I wouldn't class myself as one of those with a good knowledge, but I do have a few Mdina pieces. The plastic label (or that is what it looks like - sorry if I am wrong ) - indicates a more recent piece, I'd guess the other markings are dates - December 2001 and November 2006 maybe? but pure speculation. I have a gorgeous red piece dated to the base in that way from 2000.
Nice pieces anyway- beats a bar of rock!

I'm pretty clueless about this sort of thing, Keith. When your title said "presents from Malta" - I assumed they'd been brought back from Malta, brand new.
The plastic label would indicate into to '90s, I think, I haven't a clue about the other markings and I've never seen the Mdina script looking as if it reads Mdrolo or Mdrell before.
I'm afraid I don't take much interest in post '80s Mdina.

I wondered if they were dates but,as Sue assumed, they were bought from the shop on Malta a couple of weeks ago and I thought it unlikely ???,better than a stick of rock ;D ;D

Definitely better than several sticks of rock! ;D

Hi Keith,
I took the liberty of asking Mdina Glass about your the codes on your weights. Apparently, the codes refer to the shape and also the colour. I gather the year is normally marked underneath the codes, however, looks like the year was not marked on your weights from looking at the pics.
Hope this helps and certainly better than a few sticks of rock!
