After a couple of rubbish offerings on here I thought I would try to find something a little more interesting!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/skillkraft/8086443130/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/skillkraft/8086443130/)
Its a spiral of mauves, greens, blue and browns standing about 6/7 cm. With a nice and unreadable raised mark which I think I can make out KKK ???
Anyone?

No letters - three lions (rotate 90 deg counter-clockwise): Guernsey Island Studio Glass

Thanks Wuff, I knew there was something there I should recognise!

I've a couple of small vases from this factory - am I right in saying that the give away (if you don't recognize the base mark) is that the rims are ALWAYS styled in this 'daisy-flower' shape - or is that not the case :)

Having looked through the offerings on ebay It certainly looks that way. Its a shape I've now committed to memory - hopefully!

"the rims are ALWAYS styled in this 'daisy-flower' shape"
All the ones I've seen have been.

thanks for the confirmation :)

Apart from those that don't have this style of rim, as a search of ebay soon reveals. I think it's safer to say this style of rim is generally indicative of Guernsey glass rather a blanket

I had intended that my reply should say...............'so we're 99% sure - cos I know there's always an exception to the rule'.............should have gone with my first thought. However, provided we have a base impression of three lions AND a daisy-flower shaped rim, then we should be o.k. with saying it's Guernsey. thanks Christine :)
