I think that's an exciting find. The colour is gorgeous :)d and great shape.
I have a yellow Mdina paperweight.  It's just round ... a paperweight ... but it makes many a display look fantastic because shape and colour.

:) Thanks for that. I've learned that you do get cut pressed glass. I did not know that before, especially not on anything officially.

I have been wondering about some tiny Russian glasses I found several years ago - they seem to be pressed, and then cut.

It reminded me of something coming from Romania, with the frosted body with an abstract design. I couldn’t find any where they have used murrines though, the abstract designs I was thinking are flat (acid stained?).  There is a vase from Romblast that has vaguely similar design elements…but probably a bit too tenuous. Here is the Romblast vase anyway: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/price-result/romblast-romania-mid-century-abstract-cobalt-glass-vase/

There is something that looks like a string of capital letters there. ???

It might show up better if some talcum powder were rubbed over it. Or cornflour, cinnamon or cocoa powder.
Any fine powder which will get caught in a groove, be a contrasting colour, and wash off easily.
It definitely looks like a studio piece to me.  :)

Glass / Help to identify Ercole Barovier Horses?
« Last post by Dan on March 17, 2024, 01:31:53 PM »
Hello,
I recently acquired a pair of Murano Horses that I believe were made by Ercole Barovier, but I can't definitively attribute them to him. To me, they appear to at least be from that era.
I just listed them on E-Bay (Item 156122135763) there are many photos.

I've attached some snips that lead me to believe they are from that era and possibly made by Ercole Barovier.

Any help with attribution would be much appreciated!
Thank you,
Dan
