Title: Mystery set no. 56
Post by: agincourt17 on August 06, 2012, 04:52:40 PM
An octagonal tray in uranium green presed glass, 30 x 20 x 2 cm.

The whole tray, including the sides, decorated with a linear grid ( a mix of single lines and lines in groups of seven).

IDs, suggestions or opinions, please?

I've one of those in clear, so that's two colours confirmed, Fred! No maker as yet... I have to say that the quality of mine isn't brilliant...

Here's a photo of more items from what would seem to be a clear 'set' - tray, candlestick, 2 cylindrical lidded pots and ringholder (plus an obviously mismatched jug and posy bowl).

The ribbed patten on the pots, candlestick foot and sides of the ringholder appear to be in accord with the ribbed grid on the tray, so I'm presuming that those pieces match.  The hexagonal finials on the pot lids should also be hepful as identifying features.

That's useful, Fred, thank you, as I don't recall seeing any full sets before. The two odd pieces are, as you rightly say, not a part of the set. Seeing the other pieces might help us run this one to earth now.

Clearer photo of the matching candlesticks (in green uranium glass). 6.5 inches tall.

Title: Part trinket set – ridged panel decoration, and pentagonal finials to pot lids
Post by: agincourt17 on October 22, 2012, 06:44:59 PM
A part glass trinket set of green uranium pressed glass consisting of a pair of candlesticks and 3 lidded pots (2 sizes) – sadly, no tray.

The pots have lids with a flattened pentagonal finial (a bit like a kite with the top corner cropped off) with angled edges. Each pot body is cylindrical, and  of the side is decorated with single vertical ridges between each of 8 clear panels, then below that short ridged-panels between  3 clear panels, The ridging on the sides is echoed by matching ridges on the lower (outer) part of the pot lids.

The candlesticks have flared faceted stems (octagonal in section), and the feet are decorated with vertically-ridged and plain panels echoing the decoration on the pots.

ID’s, comments or suggestions, please?

Candlesticks in pale blue. 6.5 inches tall.

Does anyone have a photo of pieces with the tray to share, please?

Thank you, Anne, for merging two separate topics on what were obviously the same trinket set pieces, plus making the link to Annes's GTS Mystery Set 56 more obvious (and more easily found in the search facility).

We now seem to have photos of most, if not all, of the pieces from a green uranium set, plus evidence of other colours too.

Still no attribution?
