Title: Caithness Sea shanties info please?
Post by: chriss on September 19, 2012, 11:16:21 AM
Hi I've got 2 Caithness sea shanties and I was hoping that someone could tell me who the maker is and if each one has a title please as there were a number in this series? This one has a boat (ship?) on one side and a seagull on the other. Thanks :D

Have you seen "our" Frank's site, Scotland's Glass?
LOADS of info there!

Thank you for advertising Scotland's Glass, Sue - unfortunately Sea Shanties are still in the queue.

The 1986 sales brochure shows/lists 6 designs:
CT436 Clipper ("half" of chriss' design - cannot exclude a seagull on the other side)
CT437 Dolphins
CT438 Fisherman
CT439 Lobster
CT440 Trawler
CT441 Yawl
There were other subjects, though - possibly added later, and I just don't have the brochure (if one existed). I have images (off ebay) of a Sea Shanties with just Seagulls - and have seen a few with mixes of several designs.
