Title: Edinburgh PWT Colin Terris-
Post by: dreamticket2 on January 07, 2006, 03:38:04 PM
I asked Richard Mores about this Pwt first on the Smugmug Strathearn pages - he has very kindly  helped me with Strathearn before.
This PWT has an E cane and acid etched Edinburgh on the base
Though this is not Strathearn, Richard referred me to the Dictionary of Dated Canes ref: that it was one of two designed for Edinburgh Glass in the 1980s
by Colin Terris.-one lilac ,one green c/w.

I cannot find an email for Edinburgh Crystal only a point of sale website.

I have had no reply as yet from Colin terris but the holidays and the Microsoft PC hacking problems may be the cause of no reply to date.

In the meantime this is the jpg and I would appreciate any info as to date and numbers issued if possible.

Thank you for looking.

Jean, your weight was called "Lilac Vine" and was included in the 1986 catalogue of "Edinburgh paperweights" as an unlimited issue, reference E657 - 85017. It may also have been in the 1987 issues.

Edinburgh Crsytal weights all had an "E" signature cane and were made under contract by Caithness Glass in 1986 & 1987.

Bob Hall, in his Scottish Paperweights book, said, "Several thousands of [Edinburgh Crystal] weights were made ... and all were sold".
