Lovely perfume bottle bought cheaply today, quite finely made with blue ground and white mottling, black and dark blue strap work, flat finely polished base - no marks. I bought because I felt it was not a chinese import (charity shops abound with these) on the same shelf were caithness paperweights and wedgwood glass animals - maybe there is a clue there, I don't know as I only own one other perfume bottle. Any ideas?

I think it's Alum Bay Glass, Isle of Wight. (Not to be confused with Isle of Wight Glass)

Adam!! You passed over glass animals....how could you!!?? :o
Pretty perfume bottle though. Send them a pic and I'm sure they'll confirm. :)

Reply back from Alum Bay. It's not one of theirs.
Could it be Caithness?
Yes Rosie. There were a few animals but I already had versions of them, or they didn't seem interesting enough. There was a Wedgwood robin.

The speckly bit at the bottom looks like Caithness, but the black straps don't.
I was pondering in the vague direction of perhaps Mtarfa or Phoenician......

A photo or two showing the pattern on the base and some more on the rest of the bottle might come in handy Adam.

You passed on a Wedgwood Robin so near to Christmas Adam!?... you can always sell glass robins at Christmas... ::)

Well it was only on Friday, I am passing the shop on Tuesday (bank holiday Monday) I might take a look in again and see if he is still there. LOL.

OK, you are forgiven Adam. ;)
I hope you find out who made the perfume bottle as well.
