This is a lovely big clear cased Murano elephant, unusually with tusks.
He is approx 10" high and is signed.
Can anyone help identify the signature please?
I think the second word is Murano, but am at a loss with the first word.
As always, grateful thanks for any help given. :)

The top line of the signature, reminded me of "Zanetti", I think it reads "Zane Murano" maybe??
Luca Zane?

It really is a very nice ellie....not a quickly produced piece at all...good hot working with lots of attention to detail.....I mean it has tusks and not many ellies are made with tusks, and I have got a few ellies!!
If it is Zane, then I will want to find out more about that maker....
C'mon Dan, you owe me big time!!
Chris....they were tears of laughter....you crease me up!
-
Looks like it says "Love Murano" to me :ho: :nk: :thud: :huh2: :24:

Zane Murano is right. Maybe Alex will be along soon to input a little on the glassmaker. I don't know a lot about him.
-
BTW, if you would like to see your ellie in the zoo, he is most welcome. I just need to make sure Luca is the correct Zane before putting it in there. You know how the last names in Murano can be.
-
Hi Anita, :hi: when we are all certain, I will take some nice pictures for you, thankyou for your help here. How many Zanes are there!!? :o
-
Are we all happy to go with Luca Zane then?
Is Alex available to help here???
-
Moving to Murano, and bumping so that hopefully Alex might see it :)
-
Grazzi mille Cathy B!!
-
Zane is a so common name in Murano... More or less as Smith or Johnson in USA.
Anyway, for sure it was not made by Luca Zane.
Ciao
Alex

Hi Alex....great to have you stop by, thank you....do you have any thoughts on which Zane could have made him.....he has more detail than a lot of Murano Elephants I have bought?
