Hi Lillian,
The different codes are because the number on Rays link is for the product code ,they are made up of U for unlimited and a number incorporating the last two digits of the year of launch.Limited weights would have L in front of the number. The T number on your weight is the number hand engraved before packing to let us be able to track down when it was made to the exact day.The weights are given a code letter then each unlimited weight is numbered consecutively from 00001 untill that letter is fully numbered. Then we would move on to the next letter and so on.It is quite possible to have the next consecutive number on an entirely different design;it would depend on what was in the finisher/packers tray at the time.

WoW !!!!!
thanks Allan
So much to learn and so little time!!!!!

Hi Lilian,
First of all sorry for spelling your name wrong last time. This is just a quick post to put right a small inaccuracy in my last post,The letter at the start of the number stands for the year that the weight was made and the numbers run untill the end of that year, then start all over again with the next letter in the alphabet.

Thanks Allan
Just noticed that you live in Perth....I guess that helps when it comes to paperweights....
Next what you have told me helps but doesnt actually tell me how to find out what year!!!!...i.e where do you start from to find the year, that number I gave was a T....
Am I so dumb????

Hi Lilian,
I have asked my friend Tina who runs the department involved if she will dig out the logbook that has your weights number in it and then I will post the info here for you.
Allan :D

Hi Lilian,
I have a bit of info on your weight,it turns out that it was made in 2000 as you would of guessed by the product number.Tina and I searched the logbooks for the "T" numbers but could not find them in the 2000 unlimited book.Tina then remembered, as I should, of that a lot of the unlimited weight production was moved to the Wick factory at that time as we were so busy with Millenium orders.Wick was allocated a letter for themselves, unfortunately the logbooks and other stuff all were lost during the period when the recievers shut the Wick factory down.So I am sorry that I cannot give an exact month for you but by the number it would certainly of been nearer the end of the year.
